The hotel at the top of theGurten, overlooking Bern

Gurten, Bern

The Gurten, on the outskirts of Bern, is about 850 m (just under 2,800 ft) high. From the top there is a spectacular view of the city and the Alps. A panorama railway takes visitors to the summit, where there is a restaurant, recreation ground and an observation tower.
