Typically Swiss

What, in your view, is "typically Swiss"?
Its historically evolved political system, in particular its stability, self-determination, sense of national solidarity (as evidenced by the intercantonal financial equalisation programme), and the fact that the political and economic elite are kept permanently in check by the people.

The downside is that sometimes we are far too slow to react, and can be rather insular and narrow-minded.

What is "typically Swiss" about you?
When I speak High German, I can't roll the "R".

What aspects of life in Switzerland do you consider modern and innovative?
The public transport system, plans to phase out nuclear power, Swiss design, the city of Zurich, and the fact that small- and medium-sized firms always find new market niches and manage to develop and even improve on solutions that already exist.
