How can I obtain asylum in Switzerland ?

Applications for asylum can be made verbally or in writing to a Swiss representation abroad, or at a Swiss border post or at the border control of a Swiss airport.

The applicant must be able to show that he/she has been subject to serious disadvantage because of their race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership of a particular social group or has a well-founded fear of such disadvantage.

Applications are considered at the Federal Office for Migration, and each is given detailed and individual examination.
